ShifterX are a Glasgow-based band comprising of Ray Martin on vocals/guitar; Andy Brooks on bass and Michael White on keyboards. The band have also worked with backing vocalists Gail Kincaid and Maz Murphy. Gail and Maz contributed to the forthcoming album Welcome to Planet X.

Lately, Shifter X recorded the main theme track that will be used for the 50th anniversary of one of Scotland´s worst ever industrial - or any other - disaster. The project, titled: Black Gold, will also be unveiling a full CD/downloadable file written and composed by ShifterX. The band also produced a theme track/promotional video clip for the cult book, Normal People Frighten Me, a worldwide seller and popular satire project.

Like most bands, ShifterX have influences; the likes of Chic and ABC have been the major influences as are soul & funk music.
